As a native of Lithuania, Rokas witnessed the country’s transformation from a Soviet system to a free-market capitalist economy in the early 1990s. Shaped by these events, as well as the guidance of his parents, Rokas developed a strong work ethic, a passion for entrepreneurship, and an appreciation for giving back.
After graduating with a marketing degree in Lithuania, Rokas embarked on his dream of studying business in America. Settling in Dallas, Texas, Rokas worked as the Southwest Regional Distribution Manager for Whole Foods Market where he oversaw a half million-dollar budget, a fleet of vehicles, a team of 30 employees, and daily product distribution to over a hundred stores. Two years later, Rokas went to Washington, DC as a specialty operations manager in the Georgetown store where he oversaw four departments that accounted for one-third of the entire store’s sales. During his time at Whole Foods Market, Rokas received two Regional Awards for Excellence.
Rokas then worked at CVS Caremark Corporation as the general store manager for its largest outlet in Washington, DC. There he oversaw all store and pharmacy operations, which included an inventory of 2 million products and generated annual sales of more than $10 million. He also received several awards and was chosen to serve as a mentor in the regional employee development program to guide and promote future leaders.
